They perform routine duties in cleaning and servicing guest rooms and baths under the supervision of the housekeeping supervisor. Room attendant promotes a positive image of the property to guests and must be pleasant, honest, friendly and should also able to address guest requests and problems. He/she should maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all housekeeping departmental policies/service and also the hotel's procedures/standards. Additionally, maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. The housekeeping industry has been growing well and providing large opportunities to professionals in this field. One can start his career in Housekeeping as a Room attendant and with hard work and commitment, he/she can move up to become Supervisor, Executive, and Executive Housekeeper.
